I build products that hold up.

I like being involved while we’re still working out what the product should be. I’ll help decide what belongs in the first version, build it, get it through the App Store, and keep working on it after launch. I want to understand what we’re trying to achieve so I can make useful decisions along the way.

I’ve been building iOS apps for more than a decade. Along the way, I’ve built backends, APIs, databases, websites, payments and subscriptions, and I still do that work today. That experience shapes how I build an app. I think about where its data comes from, what happens when a payment fails, and how a change on the server will affect the person using it. Having worked on those parts myself helps me make better decisions for the whole product.

I’ve also worked on products used at scale, where reliability was important and changes had to account for people already using the system. I’m comfortable joining an existing product as well as building one from scratch.

Building my own products has made me more willing to question what we’re spending time on. I’ve put years into something that didn’t work, and I’ve had to figure out pricing, support and running costs for myself. If I think we’re making something harder than it needs to be, I’ll say so.
